Andrew Craddock
CEO of Darlington Building Society, Pension Fund Trustee and an independent governor and Chair of the Audit Committee at Darlington College
Andrew has had a distinguished 40-year career in financial services with senior roles in Barclays Bank and Allied Irish Bank before becoming a CEO for the last 12 years. He joined Darlington Building Society in 2018 as CEO and has led the transformation of the Society over the last 7 years. He has grown total assets by over 60% to reach the £1bn milestone, has donated over £1m to local good causes through the Society’s 5% Pledge and has been awarded Building Society of the Year.
Throughout his career he had held various non-executive and trustee roles and is presently a Pension Fund Trustee and an independent governor and Chair of the Audit Committee at Darlington College, which has recently secured a £20m investment to build a new STEM learning centre.
Andrew is a Chartered Fellow of the London Institute of Banking and Finance, a Fellow of the Institute of Leadership and holds other qualifications in mortgage advice, change and Lean Six Sigma. Outside of work Andrew lives in Northallerton, North Yorkshire, plays badminton for a local club, and enjoys walking, travelling and watching sport.
